About this role
· Cotris Enterprises Ltd. dba Gerry's Freshmart is seeking a reliable, honest, and hardworking Cashier to join our team.
· This is a full-time position that requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and on call as needed.
· Education required: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
· Experience required: 1 to less than 7 months
· On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
· Work setting: Supermarket/grocery store
· Main Responsibilities
· Operate cash register
· Process money, cheques and credit/debit card payments
· Scan items
· Tabulate total payment for goods or services required
· Receive payment for goods or services
· Stock shelves and clean counter area
· Greet customers
· Wrap or place merchandise in bags
· Weigh produce and bulk foods
· Provide customer service
· Assist customers with self-checkout
· Monitor all entrances and exits, request proof of payment when necessary
· Verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol or tobacco products
Computer and technology knowledge
