Richelieu Hardware is currently looking to add a Product Specialist to its team at its Head Office located at 7900 Henri-Bourassa West Boulevard, in Ville St-Laurent. Main Responsibilities Please note that the percentage of time spent on tasks may change but still fairly represents the reality of the position • Technical support for sales teams and clients: technical advice, product recommendations, support for key accounts, and assistance to sales reps. (20% of the task) • Technical troubleshooting of installations and problem solving: analyzing failures, troubleshooting, corrective recommendations, validation tests, and technical support on-site or remotely. (20% of the task) • Product range management: lifecycle management, creating and maintaining codes, streamlining the range, monitoring performance, and continuous improvement. (20% of the task) • New product development: defining specifications, testing, validation, launching coordination, and improving existing products. (+/- 10% of the task) • Market analysis and competitive intelligence: tracking trends, analyzing the competition, identifying opportunities, and giving strategic recommendations. (+/- 10% of the task) • Sales and customer training: developing training materials, demos, webinars, and technical support. (+/- 10% of the task) • Supplier management: technical follow-up, quality, product development, and participation in improvement projects. (+/- 5% of the task) • Product marketing: creating technical content, product sheets, documentation, supporting marketing campaigns, and participating in trade shows. (+/- 5% of the task) The ideal candidate has : • 3 to 5 years of experience in a product specialist, product manager, technical support, or product development role. • MUST HAVE: Experience in functional hardware, cabinetry components, furniture, kitchen cabinets, or a related manufacturing field. • Experience collaborating with international suppliers and cross-functional teams. • Experience in technical support, problem-solving, and training customers or sales teams. Academic and Other Requirements: • AEC or DEC in administration, business management, marketing, mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, industrial design, or a related field. • A Bachelor's degree in one of these areas is considered an asset. • MUST HAVE: Excellent communication, presentation, and technical simplification skills. • Excellent knowledge of functional hardware (hinges, slides, opening systems, metal drawers, etc.) as well as the cabinetry and cabinet manufacturing market. • Strong skills in technical analysis, problem-solving, and installation diagnostics. • Good understanding of mechanical design principles and ability to collaborate with mechanical engineers and product development teams. • Ability to read and interpret 2D technical drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD. Knowledge of SolidWorks is a plus. • Experience in B2B project management, from defining needs to commercial launch. • Excellent level of bilingualisme in French and English, both spoken and written. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and product data management tools. • Able to collaborate effectively with sales, purchasing, marketing, operations teams, and international suppliers. • Analytical mindset, self-sufficient, organized, and customer-oriented. • Available for occasional travel to clients, suppliers, and trade shows or training sessions.
