Nanny – Private Household Address: 30 Crew Crescent, Maple, Ontario, L6A 3E9 Position: Nanny Employment: Full-time, 35 hours per week Employment type: Permanent Wage: $22.00 per hour A private household is seeking a Nanny to provide care and supervision for a toddler in the employer's home. Duties and Responsibilities • Supervise and care for the child in the employer's residence; • Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks according to the child's schedule and the employer's instructions; • Assist the child with eating and encourage healthy eating habits; • Bathe, dress and assist the child with age-appropriate personal hygiene; • Assist with toilet training and reinforce proper hygiene habits; • Maintain the child's bedroom, play area and other child-related areas in a clean, sanitary and safe condition; • Follow the child's daily routines, including meals, naps/rest periods, play and other activities; • Organize and participate in age-appropriate activities such as reading, games, arts and crafts, educational activities and indoor/outdoor play; • Take the child on walks, outings and recreational activities as appropriate; • Encourage the child's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development; • Encourage independence, good manners, confidence and positive behaviour; • Provide emotional support, comfort and reassurance; • Observe the child's behaviour and development and communicate relevant observations to the employer; • Accompany the child to medical appointments and other appointments as required; • Apply discipline and guidance according to the parents' instructions; and • Ensure the child's safety and well-being at all times. Qualifications Required • At least 1 year of relevant child-care experience is required. • A formal training program in child care or a related field is an asset. • Reliable, responsible, organized and compassionate, with a positive and patient attitude toward children. • Professional and respectful manner. • Ability to work independently and follow the employer's instructions regarding the child's care, routines and activities. • Good communication skills in English.
