About this role

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight (FLAT BED) trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled and fuel consumption. Certificates, licenses, memberships, and courses: Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Documentation knowledge: Bill of lading. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Trip reports. Type of trucking and equipment: Tractor-trailer. Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Transportation/travel experience: International. Long-haul. Security and safety: Valid passport. Criminal record check. Driver's Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Reliability. Team player. Experience: 1 to less than 7 months.
