About this role
· We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Home Support Worker to provide in-home care and assistance to an elderly individual. The ideal candidate is dependable, patient, and dedicated to supporting the individual’s comfort, dignity, independence, and overall well-being while ensuring a safe and respectful home environment.
· Languages: English
· Vacancy: 1
· Wage rate: $24.75/ hour
· Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
· Experience: 1 to less than 7 months
· On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
· Work setting: Work in employer’s/client’s home
Tasks
· – Administer bedside and personal care
· – Assist client with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
· – Assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk
· – Feed or assist in feeding
· – Launder clothing and household linens
· – Mend clothing and linens
· – Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
· – Plan therapeutic diets and menus
· – Provide companionship
· – Provide personal care
· – Shop for food and household supplies
· – Prepare and serve nutritious meals
Additional information
This position is physically demanding and involves repetitive tasks. The successful candidate must be punctual, dependable, reliable, and honest, with a strong client-focused approach. Excellent oral communication skills, flexibility, initiative, and patience are essential to providing high-quality home support services.
