Location: Abbotsford, British Columbia Position: Farm Supervisor NOC: 82030 – Agricultural Service Contractors and Farm Supervisors Number of Vacancies: 1 Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time, Year-round Hours: 35–40 hours per week Wage: $21.00 per hour Language: English Education: Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience Experience: 2–3 years of farm supervisory or agricultural experience About the Position A Narang Farm Ltd. is a family-operated blueberry farm located in Abbotsford, British Columbia. We operate approximately 40 acres of blueberry production and are seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Supervisor to oversee day-to-day crop production and supervise farm workers. The successful candidate will coordinate farm operations, supervise general farm workers and harvest labourers, and help ensure that crop production, workplace safety and farm procedures are properly maintained. Job Duties • Coordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers. • Supervise and oversee blueberry growing and other crop-related operations. • Provide agricultural crop services such as planting, cultivating, irrigating, spraying and harvesting. • Develop daily and seasonal work schedules and establish work procedures. • Assign duties to farm workers and monitor their work. • Hire, train and supervise farm workers as required. • Ensure farm safety and biosecurity procedures are followed. • Maintain quality-control, production, work and operational records. • Monitor crop health and identify disease, pest and other crop-related problems. • Assist with planning and coordinating pruning, shoot thinning, leaf removal, irrigation, spraying and harvesting activities. • Set up, monitor and maintain irrigation and water lines. • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment when required. • Assist with general farm duties and crop-production activities as required. • Maintain a safe, organized and productive work environment. • Ensure that farm equipment, tools and work areas are used safely and maintained appropriately. Employment Requirements • Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience. • 2–3 years of experience in farm operations, crop production or a supervisory agricultural position. • Previous experience supervising agricultural workers is required. Work Environment The position is primarily outdoors on a working blueberry farm. The work may involve prolonged standing, walking, sitting, bending and other physically demanding activities. The successful candidate must be prepared to work in hot, cold, wet and changing weather conditions.
