About this role

Ironclad Earthworks Ltd. is seeking three (3) Construction Labourers to support our construction and earthworks operations in Calgary, Alberta.The successful candidates will perform general construction labour duties and assist construction crews, tradespeople, supervisors, andequipment operators with the preparation and completion of construction projects. The position involves physically demanding work in outdoor construction environments and requires the ability to safely perform manual labourand follow directions from supervisors and site personnel. Main Duties and Responsibilities The Construction Labourer will be responsible for the following duties: -Perform general labour duties at construction and earthworks job sites. -Load, unload, move, and distribute construction materials, tools, equipment, and supplies manually or using appropriate material-handlingequipment. -Assist construction workers, tradespeople, supervisors, and equipment operators with their daily activities. -Perform manual digging, shovelling, raking, levelling, spreading, and compacting of soil, gravel, sand, and other construction materials. -Assist with excavation, trenching, site preparation, backfi lling, and other general earthworks activities under the direction of supervisors. -Assist with the preparation, cleanup, and maintenance of construction sites. -Remove construction debris, excess materials, and other waste from work areas. -Assist with setting up and dismantling temporary structures, barriers, forms, signs, and other construction-related items. -Use hand tools and basic construction tools to perform assigned tasks. -Assist in preparing materials and work areas for construction activities. -Follow instructions, site plans, safety procedures, and directions provided by supervisors and forepersons. -Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition. -Assist with traffi c control, site access, and securing work areas when required. -Participate in toolbox meetings and comply with company and site-specifi c health and safety procedures. -Follow all applicable occupational health and safety requirements and report unsafe conditions, hazards, damaged tools, or equipment to thesupervisor. -Perform other general construction labour duties as assigned by the supervisor. Employment Requirements -Previous experience in construction, earthworks, or general labour is an asset. -Previous construction labour experience is preferred. -Ability to perform physically demanding manual labour. -Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull construction materials and equipment. -Ability to follow instructions and work safely under the direction of supervisors and site forepersons. -Ability to work independently and as part of a construction crew. -Basic knowledge of workplace health and safety practices. -Good physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. -Valid driver’s licence is an asset but not required. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities -Physically demanding work. -Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting. -Repetitive manual tasks. -Frequent handling of construction materials and tools. -Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment as required. -Work is primarily performed outdoors at construction and earthworks sites. -Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, construction equipment, changing weather conditions, and other normal construction-site hazards. -Ability to work in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, heat, and cold. -Ability to work extended hours, overtime, weekends, or holidays when required by project schedules. -Must follow all applicable workplace health and safety requirements and use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Skills and Abilities -Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. -Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, tradespeople, equipment operators, and other construction workers. -Ability to perform tasks effi ciently while maintaining attention to safety and quality. -Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. -Ability to work safely in a physically demanding construction environment. Wage and Employment Conditions Hours: 30-40 hours per week Employment Type: Full-time
