Home Support Worker (NOC 44101) Employer: Sandeep Grewal Work Location: Surrey, British Columbia Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time Hours of Work: 30–35 hours per week Wage: $24.50–$25.50 per hour, depending on experience. Overtime will be paid in accordance with British Columbia Employment Standards legislation. Vacancies: 2 Start Date: As soon as possible Language Requirement: English Work Setting: Private residence caring for a medically disabled, bedridden adult. Job Duties • Provide personal care, assistance, supervision, and support to a medically disabled individual in accordance with instructions provided by health-care professionals. • Monitor feeding, tracheostomy, and suction tubes, as well as ventilator equipment, to ensure proper functioning and attachment. • Feed the client through feeding tubes using prescribed feeding formulas. • Clean and maintain feeding and respiratory equipment as instructed. • Assist the client with sponge bathing twice daily and other personal hygiene needs. • Assist with regular exercises, repositioning the client every one to two hours, and transferring the client to and from a wheelchair using appropriate lifting techniques. • Maintain a safe and healthy home environment. • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties. • Laundry clothing, bedding, and household linens. • Shop for groceries and household supplies. • Assume responsibility for household activities in the absence of the householder. Employment Requirements • Secondary school completion preferred. • Previous caregiving, home support, or related experience is preferred. • Training may be provided to a suitable candidate. • Compassion, patience, reliability, and attention to detail are essential. • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and transferring a disabled adult.
