Hairstylist required at our Feathers Brow and Hair Studio - Bedford, Nova Scotia Feathers Brow and Hair Studio is looking for a skilled and motivated Hairstylist to join our growing team at our Bedford location, 620 Nine Mile dr, Bedford, NS B4A0H4 Our salon provides high quality hair services including haircuts, colouring, styling and treatments in a professional and friendly environment. We are seeking someone passionate about beauty and client service who enjoys working in a busy salon. Work Location 620 Nine Mile Drive Bedford, Nova Scotia B4A 0H4 On site work only Position Details Job Title Hairstylist Wage 25.00 dollars per hour Hours 64 to 72 hours bi weekly Employment Type Full time Term or Contract Start Date As soon as possible Vacancy 1 position Work Schedule Shift work Flexible hours Weekend work required On call and overtime as required Responsibilities Greet clients and provide excellent customer service Examine hair and scalp condition and recommend appropriate treatments Cut and trim hair according to client instructions and preferences Recommend hairstyles based on client features and lifestyle Shampoo condition and treat hair and scalp Provide hair treatments including waving straightening relaxing and tinting Apply bleach tints dyes or rinses to colour frost or highlight hair Style hair including cutting trimming tapering curling perming and blow drying Trim or shave beards and moustaches when required Provide scalp conditioning massages Schedule appointments and assist with front desk duties when required Maintain salon cleanliness and order supplies when necessary Supervise junior stylists or assistants when required Education College CEGEP or other non university certificate or diploma in hairstyling or related field 1 to 2 years Experience Experience is an asset however newly licensed hairstylists with strong skills are welcome to apply Required Certifications Hairstylist Licence issued by the Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia Hairstylist Trade Certification Barber Licence is considered an asset Skills and Specializations Hair styling techniques including blow drying braiding curling iron waving perming extensions twisting locking relaxing and roller setting Hair colouring techniques including bleaching dyes tints and highlighting Work Environment Fast paced salon environment Standing for extended periods Combination of sitting standing and walking Repetitive tasks with attention to detail Personal Qualities Strong client service skills Dependable and reliable Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Flexible and cooperative team player Good judgement and professional attitude Benefits Health benefits including dental plan Bonus and commission opportunities Free parking Employer paid learning and training opportunities Who Can Apply You may apply if you are A Canadian citizen A permanent resident of Canada A temporary resident of Canada with a valid work permit Please do not apply if you are not authorized to work in Canada.
