Johmay Farms Ltd. •• Location Ponoka, ABT4J 1R2 • Salary $28.00 hourly / 30 to 40 hours per Week • Terms of employment Permanent employment Full time Day, Start date Starts as soon as possible Vacancies 1 Overview Languages English Education • Other trades certificate or diploma • or equivalent experience Experience 3 year to less than 5 years Work site environment • Hog and pig farming • Hog management • Other grain farming • Dusty • Hot • Noisy • Odours • Outdoors • Grain, oil and forage crop Work setting • Rural area • Remote location • Relocation costs not covered by employer • Willing to relocate Responsibilities Tasks • Brush collecting • Feed inventory • Handling animals • Harvesting seedlings • Livestock branding • Mixing fertilizer • Monitoring animal health • Processing pig litters • Seed cutting • Weeding • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures • Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed • Maintain livestock performance records • Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations • Maintain work records and logs • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment • Perform general farm duties Supervision • 1 to 2 people Experience and specialization Equipment and machinery experience • Feeding and watering system • Fertilizer applicator • Harvesters • Sprayer or duster • Tractor Area of specialization • Agricultural crop service • Swine Additional information Work conditions and physical capabilities • Physically demanding • Attention to detail • Combination of sitting, standing, walking • Large workload Own tools/equipment • Gloves Personal suitability • Organized Who can apply to this job?
