About this role
· • Operate a straight truck or a tractor-trailer with two or three axles.
· • Loading and unloading trucks.
· • Maintain daily truck records and submit mileage reports.
· • Create reports on work-related issues, estimate budgets, and track expenditures.
· • Adhere to both company and government regulations and rules.
· • Secure cargo safely and manage hazardous materials.
· • Communicate with dispatchers and fellow drivers using onboard radios.
· • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
· • Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any identified issues. Like performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and overseeing all aspects of vehicle
· • Address workplace challenges and seek ways to enhance performance.
· • Establish strategies to meet job deadlines and collaborate with other departments.
· • Provide training to employees on job responsibilities, safety protocols, and company policies.
· • Assist with the recruitment processes of new drivers in the team.
· • Review routes to anticipate delivery times.
· • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
