Employment Terms Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Working Hours: 30–36 hours per week Schedule: Tuesday to Friday Wage: $36.61 per hour Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly Job Description The Waste Collection Driver operates waste collection vehicles to collect and transport garbage, recycling, and organic materials from residential and commercial areas. The driver follows assigned routes and ensures safe and efficient waste collection according to company procedures and local regulations. Work location: Different routes in the Mission and Maple Ridge areas. Main Duties • Operate waste collection trucks to collect garbage, recycling, and organic materials from residential and commercial locations • Drive along designated collection routes and follow established schedules • Load waste and recyclable materials into the collection vehicle when required • Transport collected waste materials to designated disposal or processing facilities • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation • Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies while operating the vehicle • Communicate with dispatch or supervisors regarding route progress or issues encountered during collection • Ensure proper handling and separation of waste, recyclable, and organic materials when applicable Requirements Education: Secondary school completion preferred, but not required. Licensing: Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s licence required. Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience operating large collection vehicles or heavy trucks.
