Ltd. (DBA Hong Kong Garden Restaurant) is a well-established local restaurant located in Kelowna, British Columbia, specializing in authentic Hong Kong–style and Chinese cuisine made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We are currently seeking a Food Service Supervisor to join our team and support smooth, efficient daily restaurant operations. The ideal candidate will be able to support daily service operations, help coordinate staff tasks during shifts, maintain food safety and cleanliness standards, and assist with basic scheduling. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Job Responsibilities: • Coordinate daily work activities among staff by confirming food preparation tasks, portioning requirements, and order priorities to ensure smooth service during each shift. • Show staff how to complete their duties properly, including basic food handling, cleanliness, and safe work practices, and provide reminders or corrections when needed. • Check ingredient and supply usage on a daily basis and estimate upcoming needs based on expected business volume, take-out orders, and recent sales. • Observe food preparation and service throughout the shift to ensure consistency in portion size, presentation, cleanliness, and overall service quality. • Speak directly with customers to address questions, concerns, or complaints related to food or service and resolve issues in a timely and practical manner. • Keep simple records related to inventory usage, food waste, equipment issues, and daily sales, and report any concerns to the owner. • Help arrange and adjust staff work schedules to ensure adequate coverage during regular hours, busy periods, weekends, and holidays. Skills & Employment requirements: • College/CEGEP education or equivalent work experience is required. Education in food service administration, hotel and restaurant management, or a related field is an asset. • Food Safety Certificate is required • A minimum of seven months to one year of experience in a commercial food service or cooking environment is required.
