PALABOK HOUSE Filipino and Chinese Cuisine is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate is passionate, creative, and capable of leading a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining exceptional food quality and presentation. Education Secondary (high) school graduation certificate OR equivalent experience Experience 3 to 5 years of professional experience Work Environment Hot kitchen environment Restaurant setting Responsibilities / Tasks Estimate quantities and costs of supplies and food items Maintain detailed records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to kitchen staff Supervise specialist chefs, sous-chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers Create new recipes and menu items Instruct cooks on preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods, including for banquets and special functions Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances Requisition food and kitchen supplies Arrange equipment purchases and coordinate repairs Consult with clients for weddings, banquets, and specialty events Plan menus and ensure food meets quality and presentation standards Perform regular cooking duties for daily service and special guests Lead and train kitchen staff in proper food handling, preparation, and cooking techniques Credentials Food Safety Certificate Experience & Specialization Cuisine Specialties: Filipino cuisine Chinese cuisine Japanese cuisine Sushi preparation techniques Work Conditions & Physical Capabilities Fast-paced environment Work under pressure, with tight deadlines Handling heavy loads (up to 45–60 kg / 100–132 lbs) Physically demanding Attention to detail Combination of sitting, standing, walking Standing for extended periods Personal Suitability Leadership Dependability Efficient interpersonal skills Flexibility Initiative Organized Reliability Team player
