Company Business Name: Windermere House Muskoka Limited Partnership Company Operating Name: Windermere House Business Address: 2508 Windermere Rd, Windermere, ON P0B 1M0 Workplace location information: Onsite work must be completed at the physical location and there is no option to work remotely Title of the Position: Cook Number of Positions Available: 2 Job Duties: - Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following established recipes, portion sizes and quality standards - Set up and stock workstations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment. - Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers - Monitor food storage and rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness. - Operate, maintain, and clean all kitchen equipment. - Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment - Assist in receiving and inspecting deliveries to verify the quality and quantity of ingredients - Set up and oversee buffets - Adhere to food safety and handling procedures and maintain a clean sanitized kitchen - May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies - Assist in the training of new staff as needed. Terms of Employment: This is a permanent and full-time position, 32-40 hours of work per week Seasonal Position: No Language of Work: No language requirement Wage: $20 per week Vacation: 4% (2 weeks annually) Location of Work (local area, city or town): Windermere, ON Contact Information: Apply with a cover letter and resume to: hr@windermerehouse.com Education and Experience: - 1 year of Culinary Experience - Food Safe, SafeCheck or Food Handler or equivalent. Skill Requirements Job Specific – Technical • Minimum 1 year of culinary experience • Must be willing to “pitch in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. • Must be a self starter and have a passion for Service. • Initiative is a must as this role may look different each shift. • Must be able to deal with problem solving situations and make judgment decisions. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently. • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly and confidentially. Mathematical •Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. •Perform a multitude of calculations. Computer •Proficient in using MS Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint; other computer skills necessary for communication and research. Health & Safety •Maintain knowledge of safety policies and procedures and performs assigned duties in a safe manner. Physical Requirements: •Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs. •Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. As well to handle, control or feel objects tools or controls. •Positions in this classification frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and twist their bodies. Work Environment: •Expect to work in a busy fast-paced environment that involves physical demands including working in a hot, noisy environment, standing for extended period of time. •May interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing company policies and procedures.
