Before any interview, learn about the organization — what they do, who they serve, and whether they have any Indigenous employment commitments. Demonstrating this knowledge impresses employers immediately.

•        Tell me about yourself

•        Why do you want this job?

•        Describe a challenge you overcame

•        Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

The best interview answers use real stories. For each question, think of a specific situation from your experience — paid, volunteer, or community-based — that demonstrates your skills.

•        Arrive 10–15 minutes early

•        Bring copies of your resume

•        Listen carefully before answering

•        Show genuine enthusiasm and interest

•        Ask 2–3 thoughtful questions at the end
